Our decision to develop this site is grounded in community support, demonstrated need, and the caring, sharing spirit that has always defined this neighborhood. This project is not just a building—it is a continuation of the relationships, trust, and shared purpose that have grown here over generations. Integrating a family resource centre with affordable, accessible living has long been part of that vision. Today, that vision is becoming a reality.

Parking

We are providing the amount of parking required by the bylaw. The majority of parking is provided underground with some convenience stalls at-grade off the back lane.

Traffic

A Traffic Impact Statement was undertaken to provide a transportation overview of the proposal. The report confirmed that the parking provided for the development is enough to meet the required need without impacting the surrounding neighbourhood.

Unit Count

A total of 24 fully affordable units will be provided. 25% of the units will be built to meet accessibility standards. There will be a mixture of two-bedroom, one-bedroom and three-bedroom units with several options for multi-generational living.

Density

Our proposal aligns with the building form allowed under East Calgary International Avenue Communities Local Area Plan.

Commercial

Yes, the main floor contains commercial space. This is specifically administrative and social gathering spaces which already exist on the current property through the Native Network Parent Link. The new and updated space will ensure they continue to operate out of this location.

Garbage

Adequate waste management solutions have been provided within the building enclosure. This means no unsightly garbage containers along the laneway.

Timeline

With a lot of the pre-development work already under way, we anticipate ground breaking would be in Q4 of 2026.
